International Survivor of Suicide Day
International Survivor of Suicide Day is a day established by the US Congress as a day when friends and family of those who have been lost to suicide can join together for healing and consolation. This day always falls on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. SOS, Inc. in conjunction with Philadelphia Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) hosts the Philadelphia Venue for the conference.
The 2014 Philadelphia Venue ISOS day, held at the Lankenau Hospital Annenberg center, featured speaker Dr. Wendy Lam whose PHD Dissertation In their own words: Perceived Experiences and Family Functioning of Suicide Survivors Before and After Suicide Loss, is based on interviews with 21 survivors like ourselves.

Candle Light Memorial
Each year SOS, Inc.'s supports a Candle Light Memorial held in Rose Tree Park, located in Upper Providence, PA during National Suicide Prevention Week. The 2018 Candle Light Memorial will be held Monday, September 10th at 7PM. Survivors were joined by 200-300 fellow survivors and participate in many activities promoting support and greater understanding of suicide loss.
